VocabStory provides an English vocabulary learning service through stories, vocabulary entries, flashcards and practice. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the VocabStory website and app.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, login credentials and profile settings.
• Learning activity: stories you open, words you save, flashcard and practice results, mastery levels and review history.
• Device and technical information: device type, operating system, app version, push notification tokens and basic server logs needed to operate the service.
• Payment information: the payment method and confirmation returned by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers or your bKash, Nagad or Rocket PIN.
• Support messages: the content of messages you send to us when you ask for help.

How we use information

• Provide the service, including your vocabulary library, review schedule and progress.
• Personalise practice and show you words that need another pass.
• Process payments and confirm your subscription or manual payment.
• Respond to support requests and investigate abuse or technical problems.
• Improve the product, content and reliability of the service.
• Send service messages. Marketing messages are sent only where permitted, and you can opt out.

AI-assisted content

Some stories and learning content are generated or evaluated with AI providers. When you use those features, the topic, vocabulary or answer text needed for the request may be sent to the provider. We do not send payment credentials. AI output can be inaccurate; review it before relying on it.

Payments

We support manual payments through bKash, Nagad, Rocket and bank transfer, and purchases through Google Play where available. Payment providers process your payment details under their own privacy policies. We receive the confirmation needed to activate or renew your access.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run VocabStory, such as hosting, email, payment, analytics and AI providers. They are expected to use it only for the service they provide. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect the service and its users. We do not sell personal data or show third-party advertising.

Cookies and analytics

The public website uses the minimum technology needed to serve pages. If analytics is enabled, we use a cookieless analytics service that does not build an advertising profile. The app uses authentication tokens to keep you signed in.

Retention

We keep account and learning data while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards for backups, dispute resolution and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated learning data.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including access controls and encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your login private.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and to withdraw consent. Contact [email protected] to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

Children

VocabStory is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will review and remove the account where appropriate.

International processing

Our providers may process data outside Bangladesh. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
